Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm an aspiring artist and writer. I love all of Heavenly Father's creations. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the same town my whole life. I love to draw and am in the works of my first book. I'm attending college and am majoring in Fine Arts and Creative Writing. I believe in chasing your dreams and striving to do what you love. My dream is be an Artist, Author, Wife, and Mother (I'd give up everything else for the last two). I love sharing my talents with others and helping others realize and strengthen their own talents. I also love to sing and am the Relief Society Chorister in my Singles Ward. I hope to one day start a program to inspire children and youth to use their imaginations and to hold on to their dreams. I love animals and own four Silkie chickens and a Guinea Pig. Even though I am an adult, I love Disney and am not afraid to still enjoy some things from my childhood (So long as it is every once in a while).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the covenant (meaning my parents were already members). I've been taught very well by my parents. From an early age I strived to follow the commandments. Before I go on there's two things you need to know about me then: I had never had good health and my closet friend and role model was my Grandpa. My life seemed pretty simple until I hit my teens. Then my faith started to be challenged. I became extremely ill and missed the rest of 7th grade. The next few years were a battle to regain my health. I didn't understand why I had to go through all this. My family encouraged me that it was a challenge I would overcome. It took tons of prayers and and faith to see the small miracles taking place. Today I am healthier than ever and rarely get sick. Challenges continued as I grew older. A year ago for the first time in my life I experienced losing a loved one, my Grandma. I knew she was happy in heaven and that I'd see her again but it still hurt. I held tighter to my faith and my Grandpa believing as long as I had him things would be okay, but he missed Grandma so much. Recently his health quickly started to fail. I prayed and fasted for him to heal. Then just when things were looking up he passed away. My heart was broken. I prayed for comfort but for a week got nothing. I didn't know what to do. At the funeral I thought I'd try praying one more time. I found a quiet room and began to pray. This is where I'll stop. What happened was personal. But I will say it revealed the truth to me. I grew that day. My testimony is that I KNOW my Heavenly Father lives. He has always and always will be with me wither I know it or not. We are never alone. It's up to use to seek for the truth rather than expecting it be handed to us. Joseph Smith did receive revelation and is a true Prophet. It's the same for the Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I know that if we live to follow the commandments and listen to our Father in Heaven, we will return to him and our loved ones.

How I live my faith

I study the scriptures every day (okay sometimes I miss but I try to make up for it). I attend Institute (religious school next to the college) classes and activities. I pray as often as needed and before I go to sleep every night. I strive to always be modest in dress, language, and actions every day. I try be of service to others and set a good example for those around me.
