Hi I'm Andrea Pumehana Parry

I am studying Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University. I love music and sewing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a sophmore attending Arizona State University and I am studying Biomedical Engineering with a focus in prosthesis. I love anything musically related having been taught classical piano for 13 years. I have accompanied choirs, soloists and ensembles on many different levels. I also enjoy sewing. Recently I sewed a prom dress from a combination of patterns. I am the oldest of three children and I live with my wonderful parents and my 85 year old grandmother. I enjoy spending time with my friends, attending church meetings, baking/ cooking and sitting down to play the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

It makes sense. That's why I'm a Mormon. They way I think is very logical and making sense of why things happen. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created us. Because of my knowledge of the body's anatomical structure and cellular structure and how those things interact with each other, there is no possible that all of that could have happened by the big band theory. Most people believe in a conscience or guide, we believe in the same thing, but stronger. He is called the Holy Ghost. And through the feelings I receive because of the Holy Ghost, I know that this church is true. Joseph Smith was visited by our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. The atonement and the life of Christ is very much real and happened. A few years ago my grandpa passed away because of cancer. Death is a hard thing. But because of the gospel, I know I will see my grandpa again. This fact has made life so much easier to bare during difficult times. Last year my best friend decided to join the church. Sitting in on the missionary discussions with her made my testimony grow even more. The spirit was so strong letting me know that this church is true and that my friend was making a wonderful decision. Its because of moments like that that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am serving as the choir director. Having had no personal choir experience (except for accompanying them), it was a very scary job for me to start. But because of the Lords help, I have been able to pick pieces for the choir that sound beautiful. My friend and I are in charge of visiting three women each month. Recently we had the wonderful opportunity to help one of them after a family member passed away. It was so sweet to be able to feel the spirit of service as we helped her out. We could tell she appreciated it. Being a college student I can do whatever I would like. I choose to live the standards I have had my whole life: dressing modestly to show respect for myself and others, clean language, and being honest. Listening to those around me in school, it makes me so happy that I have chosen to live this way because i am happy with my life and the decisions I have made because of how I live.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Andrea Pumehana Parry
Yes! Husband and wife can be together forever! Isn't that wonderful! A worthy couple can be sealed for time and all eternity in the Lords temples. That ordinance creates a bond that will last throughout eternity liking families together. Yes, we will live as families in heaven after this life. Show more Show less
