Hi I'm Jesse

I grew up in Wisconsin. I wrote my first book in 5th grade. I have these cool scars on my face. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel the need to write whatever passes through my mind, but there’s really no time for that. Film can capture piles of tiny details a short amount of time. So, in my free time that's what I like to do. I like to write poetry, Writing is like painting in someone else’s brain I can be found looking at cows and horses as I ride my motorcycle through the countryside. I am studying to become a clinical/neuro psychologist, and I have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Those two things may, or may not, be related. People are pretty interesting I guess. I believe everybody has something profound to share.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Once I was 18 I stopped going because I didn't live at home anymore. I played bass in some bands, went to college for journalism for a year, and come back to my hometown to work and pay off college debt. One day while walking home from a bar downtown, I realized that I wasn't happy. I had been writing down my dreams for some time and thinking about them. I started reading the Book of Mormon again and loved how poetic it was. I had the missionaries over for a vegetarian dinner, and a week later I went to the zoo with them. The current bishop of that time had previously been my tae kwon do instructor. I met with him and we would sit in the park and talk or go get food together. I started coming to church again and the bishop gave me an assignment to take pictures of all the members for the ward directory. I began to prepare to be a missionary. I remember when I prayed and asked God if Joseph Smith was really a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was the real deal. As I knelt by my bed praying, the response that Heavenly Father gave was strong and clear. I knew that Joseph Smith was really a prophet and that the organization of the church was all divinely done through real revelation. I served as a missionary in Brazil. And I share that not only do I know for myself that these things I have said are the truth, but that if anyone goes and asks God about it He'll tell you too.

How I live my faith

Although I love teaching about Christ's gospel and His church, I have the most fun just helping in everyday matters. In the young single adult ward here, I enjoy helping the girls with yard work and house maintenance. I like to be friends to people that seem strange to some. Because for me, people that appear different are easy to relate to.
