Hi I'm Janelle

I love reading, walking and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are a lot of things that I like doing. I like to make things like cakes, quilts, and charcoal drawings. I love to go walking, especially in cemeteries. I like reading the names on the headstones and learning a little bit about people who have go on before me. Also, I love to go hiking. One of my favorite places to go is Zions National Park with its red rock mountains and I love visiting the Upper, Middle and Lower Emerald Pools there. One of my favorite pastimes is reading. Fantasy books are my favorite, but I'm growing to like non-fiction more as I read more of it. I enjoy life and love learning everything I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and grew up knowing the gospel. During my study of the scriptures I gained a testimony of the love that our Heavenly Father has for me and everyone who is on this earth. I've personally experienced the healing power of the Priesthood and know the peace that the Gospel of Christ brings to my life. I know that Christ is our Savior and that He atoned for my sins and that because of His sacrifice I can one day return to the presence of my Heavenly Father. Knowing Heavenly Father's plan for me brings peace, joy and happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I love being able to sing the hymn and playing them on Sunday. When I'm able to I like being part of the local church choir. I like being able to practice with the choir and then perform those songs on Sunday. I also love helping teach the little children about our Savior and how to make right choice. I've been called to serve a mission in Japan and I'm excited to share my testimony with the people that I meet there about my Savior and how the gospel has blessed my life.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Janelle
A church is a gathering place where everyone is welcome to come and learn of our Savior and his gospel, read from and learn from the scriptures and be spiritually up lifted. It doesn't matter if you're from an other church, religion, or belief, you're welcome to come to church. The temple is a very sacred place that anyone can enter into after they have made a covenant through baptism by proper priesthood authority that they will follow after Jesus Christ and live by the commandments that he has given to us and have proven they are worthy through an interview with their priesthood leaders. In the temple we gain further understanding of our purpose here on earth and make sacred covenants and preform sacred ordinances so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father.
