Hi I'm Sonya

I grew up in Florida. I served my country in the US Army in Iraq. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sonya. I am an Army veteran, a mom, and a Mormon. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a medic. After I returned home, I decided to leave the military to attend a university. I met my husband, graduated, and we decided to start a little family. We have one son, and my husband and I are both the only members of our Church in our extended families.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's TRUE! Jesus Christ is everything, and this is His church. I have come to know this through testimony borne to me by the Holy Ghost, who reveals the truth of all things. This is a sure witness from God--one that brings me great peace and comfort in my daily life and in my times of greatest need. I know that God lives and loves us enough to give us a prophet in our day to guide our lives in accordance with His will for us. The Gospel, as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is a gospel of love, hope, peace, and joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my young son every day in our home. He is curious, enthusiastic, and receptive when it comes to spiritual things and I'm grateful that we have the Church as a foundation in our lives to help us learn and teach him the true doctrines of Jesus Christ. My husband and I take him to the Temple when we go so that he feels the importance of it in our family. The Temple has become a symbol of love and unity in our lives.
