Hi I'm Shaun

There's a fly buzzing around my room, I'm a convert and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 26 years old and I joined the church when I was 22. Before my conversion I thought I enjoyed the party life of being young and indestructible. But I soon realised there was much more to life then getting wasted every weekend. I was raised a catholic and always felt there was something missing with my faith, I often pondered about where I came from, deep down I knew that we just didn't suddenly exist when we were born. I am now married to my eternal companion, a father to a 15 month old boy and the store manager of a successful retail business. I am also studying business at university.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit testify to me that this church is true. Before I was a member of the church I told my girlfriend at the time (who is now my wife and is a member of the church) that I would never join her church. Well I was dead wrong. I thought to myself if I really cared about her I would at least get to understand what she believes but once I did I would tell her that I am not interested. Well I received my first Book of Mormon and read it in about a week. I then got on my knees and earnestly ask God if what I read was true. The feeling that came over me was something I had never experienced before and so just to make sure a week later I prayed again, and again it was confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon was true. From that point on I have been like a sponge to the knowledge that is available to all members of the church. I love the gospel with all my heart and am so grateful that the Lord didn't give up on me and blessed me with the opportunity to know the truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying hard to pray every day and read my scriptures. Doing so gives me strength I can receive from no where else. I also have a role in my local church where I look after the young men (age 12-17) This gives me great joy as I can work to provide them with being a greater example then I was, and it makes me so proud to see such valiant young men who stand up for righteousness.
