Hi I'm Kimberly

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sophomore in college. I am currently majoring in Interior Design, but in a constant struggle to find out what I actually want to do. I love playing most sports, but my favorite is tennis. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is shopping and being with family and friends. My family all 12 of us (in-laws included) are the most important people to me. I have a niece and 2 nephews whom I absolutely adore. To them I am known as Bobo. I love going on vacations with my family and just hanging out. My favorite season is summer, but Christmas is my favorite holiday. During the summer I love going jet skiing with my family, and have enjoyed this since I was 2 years old. One of my biggest dreams in life is to travel to Italy, and not just for a week but for an extensive period of time. One thing unique to me, is that I am a twin. Most people think we are identical but we are not, and have very different personalities.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. It used to be my parents telling me it was time to go to church, or what I should be wearing, or what I should be consuming. But now it is by choice. It is by choice that I attend church for 3 hours each week and strengthen my testimony in God's son Jesus Christ. It is by choice that I follow what God wants me to do, with the standards he has set up for me. It is by choice that I have chosen the path that makes me truly happy! I know that the choices I make, that coincide with "Mormonism" makes me truly happy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ means to me that I can return back to my Heavenly Father, that he has sent his son to atone for me. That thru Him I can become perfect, that I have to make choices now that help me get as close as I can to God. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints means the world to me, that I don't have to wonder why I am here or where I am going after this life. And I know that I can be with my family for eternity, and this is the best blessing of all to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I demonstrate my faith in my Heavenly Father by the choices I make daily. There are many "Mormons can'ts" like we can't drink coffee, we can't wear what every clothing we choose, we can't hang out on sundays. To some these may seem like restrictions on "having fun", but to me they keep me safe. I CHOOSE to follow the standards God has set up to keep me happy. They are not restrictions to me and they make it so I am eternally happy, not just temporarily. God set up these standards for me and you because He loves us dearly and wants to see us again. I live my faith day by day. I demonstrate my faith in my Heavenly Father by the choices I make daily.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Modesty and chastity are directly related. I know that the times that I am dressed more modestly I act more like the daughter of God that I should be. My thoughts and actions are more purer and it is easier for me to make righteous choices. Modesty was engraved into my head from a young age from my mother. Mothers, through their example, have a vital role in a young woman’s life in teaching them to live a chase life while dressing appropriately. It is because of my mother’s example of dressing appropriately at all times that I learned to dress how I want other’s to respect me. Show more Show less
