Hi I'm Isabelle

I was born and raised in France. I am a stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom by choice. As I got pregnant my husband and I decided it was important for us to plan our life so I would be able to raise our children. It is not always possible but the Lord has blessed us with the ability. I homeschool our children: it is so rewarding. This decision was an answer to prayer not a choice on our part. We prayed for guidance every spring for the next year. So for two years our children went to school. I also enjoy gardening and sewing. I grow flowers and a vegetable garden. I love working the ground and making things pretty. As for sewing, I make clothes for our children, myself, and sometimes my husband. I am taking classes to improve my skills. English is my second language. I have studied hard to improve and be able to do what I was asked to. It has not always been easy but it sure is worth it. I also use to be fluent in German. I still remember a lot but one of my goal is to gain back the knowledge I lost through lack of practice. Foreign languages are fascinating to me. I wish I could learn so many of them to be able to understand people and the reason why they think the way they do or why their culture is the way it is.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because of family circumstances. Through time, study and obedience I was able to build a testimony of the truthfulness of what I read and of what I was taught. I have grown to love this Church. I have grown to know it is true. It is God's Church on the earth. It is not so because people say it or because I want to be right and others wrong but because I have studied and inquired of the Lord. Being a member of this Church is not easy. A lot is required of us. But any parent who really loves his/her child will expect a lot from him/her. That is how Heavenly Father is with us. I know He loves every single one of us. He knows us individually. He spends the time listening to each of us when we want to take the time to talk. He is so caring. One can see it all over the writings He has left us. He wants us to return to Him once our time here is over. I know there is life after we are done on this earth. A life so beautiful, filled with so much joy, happiness, with our relatives and friends. We can be together forever. I love my family and I am glad I have this peace of mind. It makes life so much easier to bear when times get hard.

How I live my faith

I do not have much time yet to spend volunteering in the community but I will someday. For now, I spend my time serving my family and those around me in the neighborhood, on the street, on the road. I love helping. I love people. I am held many callings in the Church such as teaching children, working in the Church library or teaching Sunday school. Callings are a wonderful way for me to improve and gain the knowledge I so desperate need and want. It is the reason I have gained faith in this work and in this Church. Now I am responsible for the Young Women ages 12 to 18 years. It is a lot of fun. They are wonderful. I am learning a lot from them. I also visit and stay in touch with many women. We are here to watch over each other a phone call, a note, an email, all those can brighten the heart of the weary and all of us are weary at some point or another. It feels so good to be prompted to do something for someone. I love this work. It is good for the soul and for the heart. We are all here together, we need to be there for one another, that is where true joy and accomplishment comes from.
