Hi I'm Luke
I'm a husband, a father, a software engineer. I grew up in California and I'm a Mormon.
I grew up in California, raised in a family of six kids. We had string family relationships and always enjoyed our time together. I moved to the Seattle area a couple of years back where I met my wife and have worked writing software. I love music and playing the piano any chance I get and I snowboard and longboard when I can fit it into my busy schedule, but I like hanging out with my family most of all.
I had the fortune of growing up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I was young my parents taught me about the importance of Jesus Christ, His teachings and the ultimate sacrifice that he made for me. These teachings shaped me into who I was going to become. As I grew older, I studied the Book of Mormon and through prayer and my own personal experiences found that I could not deny the power of this book. This book draws me closer to Christ every time I read it. It has made me a better person and has taught me how I can be happy. The Book of Mormon is responsible for my testimony of Jesus Christ. I had the opportunity of serving as a missionary for the church in Brazil where I was able to share the knowledge that I had with those around me. I was able to see first hand the changing power that Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon and this church have on people. I was a witness to many miracles that have strengthened and confirmed the knowledge that I already had: that Christ lives and this is His church.
Today I am lucky to be married to my wonderful wife where we are able to serve together in our church as youth leaders. While she teaches the 12 year old girls, I help out by teaching the 14 year old boys. We spend time planning lessons and activities that will engage the youth and help them strengthen their beliefs and draw closer to Christ. My wife and I just had our first baby on September 21, 2011 and she has become the center of our lives. My life has completely changed as I now have the responsibility to raise my daughter in righteousness, teaching her about the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as my parents did for me. I strive everyday to draw closer to the Lord so that I can be guided on how to raise my children. We have made it a priority in our house to pray, read scripture and spend time together everyday so that we can have stronger relationships amongst ourselves and with our Lord. This has brought a lot of happiness and peace into our home. I love it and owe it all to the Lord.
