Hi I'm Mark

I love to create. I'm a metalsmith but have an office day job. My greatest joy is being a husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life's desire has always been to be a husband and father. I don't know what greater joy I could find than that. I have a passion for creating things and have a degree in metalsmithing. I'm a jewelry artist as a hobby and hope to someday pursue it full time. I love being surrounded by family and friends and spending time with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

The short answer of why I joined the Church? Because someone invited me and I felt something different than at any other church I had attended. The short answer of why I'm still a Mormon? Because I now know it's the true Church of Jesus Christ. But, there's a lot in between. The LDS beliefs made sense to me and for a while after joining the Church, I wanted it to be true because of this. Some examples: -I believed before that religions were manmade. It seemed prideful to me that founders and/or leaders of churches could claim to know what God was thinking. I never felt any spiritual confirmation of the Catholic faith I was raised in which was the only church that claimed roots in the church founded by Jesus Christ. All other churches were founded and led by men. I never considered a restoration of Christ's true Church, restored and led by Him, not men, through modern day revelation. -I felt that if God's true Church was available, He would do something to bring people to it. He wouldn't just let it sit there and wait for people to come by chance. That is why our missionaries do what they do. No other religion takes proselytizing as serious as the LDS Church. Perhaps something that annoys most of the world but once I looked at it this way, it simply made sense. -The fact that the Mormon Church has such a negative connotation also made sense to me because I knew that where the truth was, the most opposition would be. The evil forces of the world do not want the truth to spread. -The unfeigned love shown to me by the members I met. They were kind and Christ-like with no reason other than wanting to share their joy. "By their fruits ye shall know them". Yet, just "making sense" wasn't enough. I was converted in my head and it took a little while for me to gain a "spiritual testimony". Since that time, I have had the influence of the Holy Ghost bear witness to me that this is in fact the true Church of Jesus Christ. Of this I testify, in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I go to Church to continue to learn of God, His son Jesus Christ, and what they would have me do. I try to live by the Lord's commandments and be faithful to those things I know to be true. I try to repent when I'm not.
