Hi I'm Rob

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an aerospace engineer. Living in the Seattle, Washington area, we enjoy alot of beautiful outdoor activities in the shadow of volcanic mountains, along pure streams, and in our deep blue lakes. I love to sail, ride my Honda Goldwing, and take pictures of my adventures and of my large family. We have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. Life is full and good.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I was a lay teenage pastor in a Christian non-denominational organization and found that I just couldn't be part of a religion where people that aren't saved are going to burn forever, after they die. I learned from the Mormon missionaries, that God is our literal Father, that we are his children, that He lives and loves us. We lived with God before we were born, and that depending on the choices we make here and the life we live, we can live with God again with our families in the eternities, through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I have checked out many other churches and found that the Church of Jesus Christ lives up to their talk with their walk. I learned that a prophet, Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's all about what Jesus Christ preached, what the Apostles preached, and this Church, His church, is built on the same principles and beliefs that were taught and lived during their lifetimes. The latter-day Saints, as a group, are the most harmonious and happy group of people I have ever known. They are honest, law-abiding, helpful and are full of charity. They truly love their neighbors.

How I live my faith

I live a life that is connected through my faith in Jesus Christ. By trying my best to follow Him, the differences in my public life and my private life narrow. If you hear my stories at work, they would be the same stories I would tell at home, or at church. My walk and talk should appear to be mirrors of each other, if I try to closely follow my Savior. Over time, I have started to become more like him. Integrity and faith interconnect when your public life and your private life coincide with each other. I have learned, for myself, who Jesus Christ is, and what it means to be like Him. If you want to know Him, as He is, then you must obtain knowledge directly from God or his authorized representatives and not from man. Christ has revealed more about Himself through His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ, than any other institution. Latter-day saints have many witnesses that proclaim His divinity, who He is, and how we can follow Him home to live forever with our God. Joy, Peace, and Happiness only come from the Savior, as you follow Him, and try to become like Him.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Rob
The church teaches the values and principles that build strong families, individuals, and communities. We serve, we sacrifice, we love, we are a positive faith based people that follow Jesus Christ. We make our lives better through His great example. We are happy, and we are happy because our lives and decisions mean something, our lives mean something, and we are important. We are important to God, because we are literally his children. God loves His children. When people hear our message, it rings true to their heart. God gave us our heart. His message is delivered by His spirit to our spirit. We know in our hearts when we hear the truth. When we hear the truth; it makes us happy. As we pray we receive confirmation from the Holy Ghost that what we feel, the happiness, is from a gift from God. God's spirit will lead us to the truth and to life of Happiness in this life and in the next. It is the priceless gift, that is worth everthing. Show more Show less
