Hi I'm Kendra

I'm half black half white. I grew up in a family of fourteen. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate although for now my degree won't do much for me. I've just recently been married and am expecting our first, a little boy. I'm trying to figure out my professional career/life and balance starting and nurturing a family. I love to do outdoorsy things although I haven't been able to lately, such as, hiking, camping, biking, even fishing and rock climbing. I also love to just read a good book or play the piano for hours.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. My parents are both converts to the church so I was raised in the culture. However, in high school, as I was having a hard time with school, friends, and life in general, I just had to figure things out on my own. Theres power in having and making a choice. I can recall day after day of just praying and pondering and asking God what was truth, what was right for me. I am grateful for the truth that I have been given and for the belief that I have. I know God is real and that He does answer the prayers both said and unsaid in our hearts and minds. I know because He has answered mine and continues to answer them. I know He loves us. I think its one of the first things I needed to really feel and understand in my life so that I can turn to Him when I feel alone or discouraged. He is there. He knows each of us. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who has done more for us than any other man. What a blessing it has been in my life to know this and to feel of His love as I struggle with daily issues.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to treat others as Christ would treat them. I mean, of course, nobody is perfect and sometimes people really just bug me, but deep inside I know thats not how the Savior would how me feel or treat people. I just recently was able to serve in my church teaching the youth, specifically girls aged 12-16. Its so neat to be around teenagers and to hear about their struggles in school, with their families or just life in general and to see them developing their own beliefs and understanding of God and His teachings!
