Hi I'm Thomas

I grew up near Seattle, Washington. I am currently employed as mechanical engineer and I have been a mormon all my life.

About Me

I am the husband of a wonderful wife and father of two young boys whom I am very proud of. I recently graduated with a masters degree in engineering and am now working. I love my family very much and enjoy spending time with them. They help me to be a better person and to work to overcome my weaknesses.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a mormon. While growing up my parents took me to church every Sunday. So I learned the teachings of the Book of Mormon and of the prophets of the mormon church. I had read the Book of Mormon and studied it in church, but I didn't know if it was right. When I was 17 I took the opportunity to step away from everyone around me and pray. To talk to my Heavenly Father. I asked him if the Book of Mormon was true... I didn't get an answer right then, but I believed that he would answer me. Later, the thought came to mind again and with it came a peaceful feeling that flowed through my chest. It seemed to originate in the core of my body. In my mind I knew that the Book of Mormon was True! Ever since then I have given my witness, that I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Every time I do so the feeling returns and it is confirmed a little more in my heart that it is true. I have received similar witnesses from the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ Lives, that God (our Heavenly Father) hears and answers our prayers, that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of the living God, and that today there is a prophet of God on the earth. I know that the prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. I don't know how many people will read this... but for anyone who does: I want you to know that I know that Our Savior Jesus Christ paid for our sins, that he died and that he Lives. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His Church that is here on the earth today. I know that our Heavenly Father is watching what we are doing and that he wants us to talk Him. He wants to be involved in our lives and He Loves us, just as much as anyone of his other children who have lived, are living, or will live on the earth. I want to leave those words with you, and that I know that they are true, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am very involved in the church in my own community. I am currently involved in helping visitors to the church and newly baptized mormons to more clearly understand the doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ and strengthen their faith. I often teach Sunday school classes as part of that. All of the church is a lay ministry, so all of the time I give to the church is given voluntarily. I often visit members of our congregation to see if there is any help that they may need. A few of the most important ways that I live my faith are through my regular daily prayers, daily scripture reading, and keeping the commandments that I know are from my Father in Heaven.
