Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Anchorage. No matter where I go I am blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I love to play volleyball and used to coach childrens soccer. I enjoy learning, but am not the best student; I don't enjoy studying and am not very good at it either. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, especially my husband. I love all kinds of music and I really love to sing and be silly with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the LDS church. I have believed that Heavenly Father loves me for as long as I can remember and I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. I had some great techers in sunday school as a child and remember being challenged by one of them to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true. Before I did that I thought I knew it was true, but decided I would take that challenge. I was probably about 10-years-old at the time and as I prayed I never recieved a huge life changing manifestation, I actually remember wondering if I got an answer, I realized over time that I knew it was true. I already knew it was true and that prayer confirmed what I already knew. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and that there is a purpose for us here on the earth. Our Father in Heaven has established one true church on the earth and it is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am grateful to be a mamber of His Church. It brings me great comfort to know my father in heaven is watching over me, that Christ died for me and made it possible for me to return to the presence of God again someday. I am grateful for Joseph Smith. I know that he was and is a prophet of God. I am grateful that God is unchanging. I know we still have a living prophet and continued revelation. It brings me joy to know that I can live with my family forever and I look forward to the day that I will see my grandma and grandpa again. I know that happiness comes from living the commandments and doing the things the Lord has asked us to do.

How I live my faith

I love to go to church. It is wonderful to go and be uplifted and rejuvinated by the word of God. I choose to live the commandments because it makes me happy. Our choices make all the difference. If we choose to do things the way Heavenly Father wants us to and has asked us to, we will find happiness. I am able to live my faith by serving in cub scouts. Those young boys teach me a lot about having simple and pure faith. I am able to share some of my musical talents by leading hymns at church. It makes me feel good to be able to contribute to my ward (congregation). Ultimately I choose to live my faith because it brings me happiness and it will get me where I want to go which is back to the presence of God.
