Hi I'm Shane

I grew up in Utah. I am a regional financial controller. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I have lived 5 1/2 years in Japan and love the Japanese language. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books and playing basketball. I am a Regional Financial Controller.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Utah where there are many of the LDS faith. Since leaving Utah however, I have been in many places (especially in Asia) where I have been in the minority. It would have been very easy to follow popular trends as opposed to living my faith. I joined this church many years ago. I have "lived" it long enough, that my conversion has become bone marrow deep. This church means everything to me and I know it is the only source of true happiness. I know that God lives and that He is our Father. I know He hears and answers our prayers.

How I live my faith

To me, one of the biggest challenges in life, is to exhibit Monday thru Saturday, the attributes and beliefs I profess each Sunday. This is a challenge both at work, but also in my own home. I have discovered 3 keys to keeping and maintaining integrity day in and day out. The first is a serious, daily study of the Bible and other scripture. I need reminding each day that the Savior Jesus Christ is my model and example. The 2nd key is prayer. Through intimate, daily prayer, I have been strengthened and helped to avoid temptation, overcome my weaknesses, and deal with difficult situations and stresses at work after a Christlike manner. The final key is service. Helping other in need is the true Christian way. The interesting thing with service is that both the server and the servee are blessed. A couple of months ago, nearly 600 people from the church clean up 40 homes/yard of elderly and disable people in the community. I felt strengthened and that I became a better person because of this service.
