Hi I'm Shawntae

I grew up in a wonderful loving home. I married my high school sweetheart and now am mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of 4 young kids, 5 years old and under-and that keeps me very busy! I enjoy dancing, crossfit, and yoga for exercise. I love vegging out in front of a movie with some good homemade popcorn with my husband to relax. I like things to be organized by nature but wish it came more naturally to keep them that way :). I like playing the piano, decorating, cooking, and eating! I also do eyelash extensions. Doing fun activities with my kids is my favorite. Being a mother is my greatest joy and really absorbs most of my hobby time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it just feels right. I have had too may experiences to count that have shown me that I am directly blessed when I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith. I believe in the Restoration of the Priesthood with all of my heart and am so grateful for it's gift, especially personal Priesthood blessings. I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but had to pray to know the truth for myself. When I finally decided to pray, in my youth, to know if this was Christ's true church on the earth I received an unmistakable witness, personal and sacred to me, that confirmed that it was. Since that moment I knew my integrity would never allow me to live in any way that would be contrary to it's teachings. I love the focus this gospel places on both family and service and I get such joy from seeing my children learn about both of these uplifting principles. I am the most grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost that is available to me. I count on personal revelation, through this special gift, to guide my choices. I am so grateful to know no matter what circumstance I am placed in in my life, no mater what situation I am faced with, I have the unmatched blessing to seek answers and help, if I am worthy. I love this gospel, its teachings, its guidelines, and the opportunities it provides me to serve and to hopefully grow closer to the kind of person my Heavenly Father sees that I could become.

How I live my faith

In my ward I serve in the youth organization. I get to help the 12 and 13 year old girls! I help them plan weekly activities and I get to teach and help them learn to teach during our Sunday Young Women's meeting. I also get to help them work on their personal enrichment program which is called "Personal Progress". Through this program they complete tasks and goals based on different values such as: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue. I love being around these choice girls and have a lot of fun! I also have the privilege of being a "Visiting Teacher". With a friend, we are assigned 4 women in our ward and see to their spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical needs. I love having this opportunity to get to know new beautiful women and make lasting and deep friendships with people I might not have had the opportunity to know.
