Hi I'm Mick

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Utah and raised LDS, served a mission in Canada, was a pilot in the Air Force and now work for IBM.

About Me

My wife and I were married in the Provo temple. We have 4 children who are now grown and starting families of their own. I was a pilot in the Air Force and still enjoy flying privately here at the local airport. I've worked for IBM for many years now. My wife and I enjoy visiting our kids and our parents, we enjoy serving in the church, we enjoy hiking in the mountains, and riding bikes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church, baptized when I was 8, and I 'believed' the church was good and right. When I was a teenager, I wanted to really know for myself. My senior year I was studying the New Testament in seminary, and made a concious effort to study the New Testament daily, live the gospel in my life, and ask in prayer, was Jesus really my Savior and was this His church and restored gospel. I would go for a run around our local golf course which was very wooded and very quiet in the winter. I'd stop and sit, pray and ponder. And over the next 3 months I felt a peace, a happinesss, a strength, and abiding assurance that He lives and this is His church. The Spirit confirmed to me it was true. From that point on, I wanted to serve a mission and share what I had with others seeking the truth. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in the church. I'm currently serving in the leadership of a young single adult ward as a Counselor in the Bishopric. Some of my previous callings have been to serve as a Bishop of a congregation, as a seminary teacher for the youth, and as a scout master.
