Hi I'm Jennifer

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I love learning, reading, sports, cooking and entertaining. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a woman who values family, faith and friends. I love to laugh and try to find goodness and joy in each day. My husband and I took care of his parents in our home for the past year, my mother lives just down the driveway from us and we hear from our children almost daily. Yes, we are surrounded by family and love it. I enjoy our local sports teams. I like to cook and get the family together for dinners. I have made some memorable, horrible dishes, which we laugh about. I love , love, love genealogy and I am involved in indexing vital records. I am researching family in Texas, Canada, Alabama, and the Carolinas. My children call it my addiction. What can I say about reading scriptures? It is vital to me. I feel a greater peace and purpose for my days. I have made a effort to understand the customs of the people of the Bible and am still learning about symbolism. I don't really consider studying the scriptures a habit, but a need. I love my friends and we enjoy going out to lunch. I also consider my sisters my best friends and we talk almost daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was 12 years old. I knew it was true then and know it more today. As a child I felt the witness of the Spirit bring peace to my heart. It has sustained me over the years and gives me hope that I can live like Jesus Christ and be with Him. I have read the Book of Mormon and testify that it contains the words of God. Many times I have been reading from this great book of scripture and felt an assurance that what I just read is true doctrine. I love reading the Bible and know that together with the Book of Mormon they testify of Christ. I am very thankful for those who sacrificed their very lives to bring scripture to us. The Church sustains me spiritually and gives me opportunities for service to others, makes me more aware of good and to avoid evil. I am truly a work in progress, but only through the Church will that progress be forward and eternal.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others do family history research, visiting those in need, trying to lift saddened hearts, praying for specific needs of not only family, but friends and neighbors. I find joy in the success of others and try to find good in people and to be a support to them. I love to support the youth of the Church in their activities in school and Church. I try to be a decent, law abiding citizen, supporting schools, and elections, and service organizations. I try in my speech and conduct to reflect all I have learned as a follower of Christ to lift others and help them succeed.
