Hi I'm Beckett

I love my wife and son. I couldn't be happier right now. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my wife and son. It doesn't matter what we are doing. I am a creative person at heart and passionate about enjoying life. I have always had an interest in all kinds of music (listening and playing): indie, hardcore, classic country, oldies, you name it. I like to collect junk and build things, sculptures, furniture. I am a Creative Writing major in college and write poetry and personal essays. I enjoy exercising and beings active. Skateboarding, running, boxing and jumping rope are some of my favorite activities for staying in shape. My favorite sports teams are BYU and the New York Rangers.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad is from Jalisco, Mexico and joined the church when he came to the United States. My mom grew up as a member. Our family had many trials while I was growing up and eventually my parents divorced but the church and Heavenly Father's love for me has helped me through all things. The church provided me with the best father figures that I could have ever wanted and direction in my life when everything else was uncertain. I served a two-year mission for the church in the Florida Orlando Mission and gained a testimony that God can give us the power to accomplish anything. I have struggled with mental illness and physical problems with my heart but Heavenly Father has inspired the doctors that have treated me. There is no problem too small that He won't help you, if you ask him. No book has ever made me feel the way that the Book of Mormon does. It calms me, teaches me and erases any doubt about the truthfulness of this Gospel. Ether is my favorite book in the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through kindness to others and trying to give as much as I can to others. Outside of church, I volunteer as a literacy tutor and I accept the callings that Heavenly Father gives me through the leaders of the church. You can have the shirt off of my back but I would rather give you a Book of Mormon.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Our church has no payed clergy. The money from our tithing goes toward things like meeting houses, utilities and teaching supplies. Heavenly Father blesses me every time I pay tithing. Show more Show less
