Hi I'm Sherry

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am mother. I love being a mother. Motherhood is not for wimps, I have learned through the valiance of my own mother. Professionally I have worked to get to the place that I can help people. I love my work. I enjoy people. I am glad that I am from a big family. Family is everything. I enjoy activities such as water skiing, playing the flute, cooking, gardening, running, working out and reading. I have a new hobby/love which is family history work. This I am passionate about as my parents are both converts to the church. I love the area I live in - it is so pristine.

Why I am a Mormon

With my parents as converts to the church, I was born into the gospel. I am so thankful for this. This is the greatest blessing of my life. I have personally experienced how we can be sustained through our trials, over and over again. There is nothing better than knowing this, that Christ does what He says He will do and that he is intimately involved in the details of our lives. Without this guidance and direction, I know I would not have made it through the difficulties. We can heal.....through the healer, himself. We can be renewed and restored....through Him. He is all powerful and to be in a position to receive that kind of blessing is what we can all have. Being LDS is an integral part of who I am. I know who I am, why I am here and where I am going. I know the purpose of life. I know the purpose of MY life. I know the direction I am going. I pray for the ability to know what He wants me to do and be. I have been able to accomplish many things because I have been given a road map for what this ife is to be. Being LDS and working to be obedient and faithful certainly is no guarantee for a trial free life. What it means is that with my own efforts, something greater than I will oversee and guide me. I have felt this, I have lived this, and I know this. These things cannot be learned in any other way. If we did not have trial, there would be no opportunity to Christ to show His effect and power in our lives. I have learned to fine tune the impressions and revelations received in my life. These are precious and recorded. We have leaders in the gospel who are attuned to our needs. We are wise to listen. If we think we know better, we are mistaken. Following His appointed leaders is wise - the way to make it back to Him and to know how to progress while we are still here. We have all lost loved ones. I know I can see them again. I know this life is the time to work for perfection and that we have eternities ahead of us. I am grateful.

How I live my faith

I lead the music for our congretation, Sacrament meeting, at church. I also have an assignment to visit with several of the women in our area to make sure they are well. If they have needs, we can report this to our leaders and help can be coordinated for this person or family. I listen to talks and read church materials online, in magazines. I read the scriptures and we have family and personal prayer. This is a good way to help our families as they grow and learn through their own experiences.
