Hi I'm Eric

Im the number one fan of being spontaneous, singing ALL the time, laughing until it hurts, and experiencing all life has to offer

About Me

I'm a Utahan through and through! I have lived in Utah my entire life, and I love it! I'm thoroughly convinced that life is to short not to have fun; Every day has an adventure just around the corner! I absolutely love to sing! All my life I've been involved with different choirs, community theaters, and any other chance I've had to preform . I love the adrenaline rush you get when you step out on stage to perform.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, and I relied on my parents testimonies for a long time. It wasn't until I "left the nest" and went off to College that I really started to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of what I believed. I was coming to the age that I could serve a full time Mission, but I wasn't living all of the commandments and I knew I wasn't worthy to serve. The guilt and Shame I was feeling really weighed on me. I was extremely worried and confused, I wasn't sure if I could be forgiven for what I had been doing. One night after reading the scriptures I got down on my knees and started to pray. I asked my heavenly father “should I serve a mission?” The strongest feeling of comfort filled my body, and the words "you are ready, serve a mission." echoed in my head. I knew that God had answered my prayer through feelings from the Holy Ghost. From that point on assurances from the Holy Ghost were building blocks to reconfirm my testimony and help me repent. While I read from the Book of Mormon, prayed, went to church, listened to the prophet speak, repented of my sins, and especially while I've been out on my mission I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that all these things are true.

How I live my faith

I'm serving my Full time mission for the church in the Maryland Baltimore mission. As Full time missionaries we are asked to devote all of our time and attention to serving the lord for two years. Which I know seems like a big comment, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now. When I think about everything that Jesus Christ went through for me, two years of my life doing his work almost doesn't seem enough. Its amazing to see the difference this gospel can make in our lives, as I have worked with people from all walks of life I have really come to know, that no matter who you are Jesus Christ and his teachings the Gospel can help you.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Eric
NO! All missionary service is Voluntary. No one is forced to serve a mission for the church. However it is strongly encouraged, because we are all children of our Heavenly father. We want every one to make it back and live with God again. Show more Show less
