Hi I'm Benjamin

I am a skier, a math major, a basketball player, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe that life is meant to be enjoyed. God has given us so many reasons to be happy! We live on a beautiful planet with amazing people all around us. I am one of five children in a wonderful family. Together, we love to do things outdoors - camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking, skiing, etc. I love to play sports - particularly basketball and tennis. I'm too competitive of a person and I'm too impatient to figure out how to be less competitive. Grateful for the example and patience of Jesus Christ who helps me to overcome the weaknesses I face in my life. I am a stressed out college student studying math and trying to figure out what God wants me to do with my life. I do believe that we can achieve whatever we set our heart and mind on. I'm learning that God has designed us to be capable of doing hard things.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was eight years old because of my parents. However, I remain a member of the church to this day because I've discovered for myself the truthfulness of its teachings. The Holy Ghost tells me that I'm being led by Jesus Christ and my life serves as the evidence while I watch beautiful blessings be showered in all around me. The decision to follow Jesus is one you can be sure you will never regret. In fact when I do make decisions that I later regret, I can turn to the Savior of the world and place those burdens at His feet. It's His open invitation to allow Him to carry us through life. I'm grateful for His great sacrifice and the gift of repentance. The Book of Mormon and the New Testament bring much peace and joy to my spirit. I love connecting my thoughts and feelings with the ancient words written by divinely inspired individuals. I built and continue to develop my relationship with God by spending time in those books. The reality of a loving God who created this earth provides me with happiness, security, comfort, purpose, and hope. Heavenly Father is a very real being. I've seen with my eyes the beauty of His creations and I've felt with my heart the love He has for myself and others as well.

How I live my faith

Everyday, I am reminded of the importance to constantly communicate with our Father in Heaven. I'm grateful that He answers my prayers and lets me know that He listens. When something makes me smile, I often say a quick prayer in my heart thanking God for that moment and asking for an opportunity to give somebody else a moment like that. God put us here to give the earth its savor. If we don't let our light shine and make the world a better place, then we aren't fulfilling our purpose.
