Hi I'm Erin

I was raised in a devout Catholic family. I have six children, fourteen grandchildren, I'm a nurse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an empty nester experiencing the joy of the next generation! I love watching my children become parents and getting to know each precious grandchild. My passion is my family, but I am drawn back to my nursing career. I always try to do too much. Too much cooking, too much reading, too much running errands, not enough sewing and not enough sleeping so I get a little crazy in my life. I joined a gym three years ago and I love to go there and find out what I can do. It was intimidating at first, but I have amazed myself and now I am comfortable working out.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a Catholic family, I was aware that God was in Heaven watching over me. At a very young age, I had a strong desire to know about Him and to become closer to Him. I wanted to live in a way that would please him. I watched my parents, my grandparents and my friends for clues on how to be closer to God. At age 10, I began to attend other churches in addition to my own church. I hungered for more and more spiritual experiences. When I was 14 years old, my older sister was exposed to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She invited me to meet with missionaries so we could both learn about this church. When I heard the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost strongly testified to me that THIS was true and THIS was what I had been searching for. I was thrilled beyond belief. Eventually, my parents gave their permission and I was baptized. I have loved to continue to learn and grow closer to my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that there is a perfect plan for me to follow Jesus, to receive ordinances and blessings that will help me make my way back to my Heavenly home. I am grateful that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and that he makes his will known to me through the scriptures, through answers to my personal prayers and through prophets and apostles he has chosen. The blessings of the temple are particularly precious to me as they allow me the security of knowing I will be able to live with my family in the eternities. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the BEST thing I have EVER done.

How I live my faith

I LOVE the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love to immerse myself in His teachings and I try to follow his example. Each week, I discuss the needs of the women in our ward with our Priesthood leaders. We pray together as we seek inspiration to know how to bring our members and friends closer to God. We work together to organize ministering visits, group activities and service projects that will strengthen each member. I work with other women to carry out all of these plans. We have formal classes and informal activities tailored to the needs of our own community.
