Hi I'm Bryce

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father of two and a medical student. I have great passion for the things I find important and enjoy, but can be a lazy, average joe who likes to kick back and enjoy a Saturday full of college football. Socializing with those I love and care about is important to me. More important than this is being of meaningful service to those around me. I guess that's why I'm torturing myself with the grind of medical school, to help those who need it, but don't know how or can't.

Why I am a Mormon

From an outsiders perspective, many would say that I'm a Mormon because I was born into it. True, but that's only the start of it. The catalyst in the development of my faith started by being challenged in high school. My 11th grade Honors English teacher never accepted simple answers. She always pushed us to go deeper, to really explain our answers, or more simply stated, "why?" Our class discussions were allowed to go wherever we were bold enough to take them. Politics, religion, social issues, none of these were off limits. It became obvious to me that my perspectives had been greatly influenced by my religion, but "why?" I felt the things I had been taught were good, but I did not know "why" they were good. I began asking myself "why" about all the things I had ever been taught at home, in worship services, Sunday school and early morning seminary. As I did this, my mind was enlightened, my soul was invigorated and I felt a peace and confidence that I never had before. I knew what I was experiencing was the Holy Ghost teaching and testifying to me. As I have grown older, I continue to ask why, and these feelings have returned time and time again, teaching me and motivating me to be better. Most importantly, they draw me closer to God and His son, Jesus Christ.
