Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in SE Idaho, served a mission in California and attended Utah State University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We enjoy spending time together as a family. During the summers we can often be found boating and really enjoy Lake Powell. During the winters the boys and I spend a lot of time snowmobiling in the mountains and Lauri and I like to travel. We have been fortunate enough to visit many places in the united states as well as a few other countries.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons to be a Mormon, but for me a simple answer is because it makes me a better person, a better husband, father, and friend. The peace and freedom that comes from Christs teaching and knowing that he not only died for us, but that he lives today are incredible. I can't imagine what my life would be like without the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though study, prayer and many experiences the holy ghost has born witness to me that the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I have served with the young men ages 14-18 for several years. Being around these young men with there faith, enthusiasm and energy has been a great experience. Their ability to do whats right and serve others is a testament to the good people that they are.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Members of the Church are encouraged to be actively involved in their communities including elections. This involvement may even include political activity. The Church is made up of members with differing political views, positions and opinions. While the Church will support any measure or position that will allow for the free practice of our religion, and the strengthening and supporting of families in general, it does not endorse any specific person involved in political activity, platform, or party. I have been a member for over 40 years and have never been asked to support a party or candidate. In-fact each year as election time approaches a letter from the first presidency is read at church to remind us that the church does not endorse specific political candidates or parties.
