Hi I'm Nick

Im from southern California. I love playing sports. I'm 21 years old and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Nick. I was a missionary in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission. I served in Marion, Columbus, Logansport, Purdue campus, IU campus, Ball State campus and IUPUI campus. I went to BYU Provo for a year before serving and I'm heading back there soon. I absolutely love playing sports. I played football in high school but got hurt my senior year so I missed the last half of the season. My favorite sport right now is basketball. I'd like to make the college team at BYU, but we'll have to see if that ever works out. I've got 3 siblings who are all younger than me. I love my family...even if they do get on my nerves sometimes. I like to hang out with friends and just live the good life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon first because I was brought up as one in my family, but at this point in my life it has been up to me to stay active. I have felt the truthfulness of the teachings and know that everything that we follow is right and true. I know that this is the true church on the earth today. I know that it was through Joseph Smith that it was restored. I know the Book of Mormon teaches the fulness of Christ's gospel and that if we follow what it says then we may recieve the blessings our Father in Heaven has promised us. It would be foolish of me to deny what I know because it is so true and I have felt the Spirit testify it is. It is true and we should all do what we can to follow Christ so we can return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I grew up living a good life and setting a pretty good example for my friends and family. I was able to help one of my friends from high school learn about Christ's teachings and help him make the decision to join this church. That experience was a great way to express my beliefs and see how they can bless other people's lives. Right now I am serving a mission in Indiana. I have come to realize my real purpose and motivation in staying true to this gospel and its teachings while I've been serving. I want to let others know what this gospel is and the blessings and happiness it brings me and can bring them. I am so blessed by our Heavenly Father and I want everyone else to feel the same way. I want them to know what our purpose of being here on this earth is and how we can live with our Father in Heaven again forever. I feel that if I'm so privileged to know what I know then I should share it with everyone else. I love it!

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that we have been sent to this earth to be tested and found worthy to return to live with our Father in Heaven again. We were sent here to feel the joys of life that God has already felt. The only way he could do this was to have us experience sorrow and sin. This is because you cannot not feel one thing without its opposite. Just like you wouldn't know how strawberry ice cream tastes if you had eaten vanilla your whole life. This is why Adam needed to transgress, sin, and feel guilty, so that he could eventually overcome those feelings and feel joy and happiness. Now we can feel happy and enjoy life as well. So, our purpose now is to repent of our sins, be happy, and follow Christ to live with our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
