Hi I'm Dave Easton

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Dave and I love being the grandpa of one little girl and nine boys . We are all set to field a baseball team. With one brother and eight boy cousins, some might think that Charlotte would be a tomboy, but not so, she is all girl through and through. I enjoy gardening, camping and cooking. I think I really like eating the best, but when I cook the anticipation builds until it makes eating the highlight of the experience. I love cooking and baking for my wife, Chris, who has Celiac. The only problem is she can never eat all that I bake. It is really fun to bake treats and deliver them to our Celiac friends. Professionally, I am a Certified Financial Planner. I find it very rewarding to help people prepare for the future.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and dad grew up as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so when they got married it was natural to raise their children as Mormons too. I am the oldest and so I was the experimental child. I have three brothers and three sisters and they all turned out great, so the experiment must have been a success. Serving a mission in Texas changed my life. I saw how the gospel of Jesus Christ enlightened people's lives and helped them to be confident in the path which they had chosen to follow. I know that following Christ is the key to peace and happiness, even when times are tough. Jesus thaught that in Him we can have peace. He said, in the world we would have tribulation, but we should be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. (see John 16:33). I am grateful that his plan can give me and my family peace and happiness no matter what happens.

How I live my faith

Like most Latter-day Saints I go to church every Sunday and worship with other members of my congreation. We are all friends because we share the same values. We participate together in worship and in serving others. Every one has something to contribute and all are blessed by serving each other. Each week I get to teach a group of young single adults lessons from the scriptures and help them solidify their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
