Hi I'm Elaine

I'm an avid knitter and a mother of 6. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life looks really boring on paper but here we go..... I'm a 42 year old mother who is crazy about her 6 kids. My youngest child is 6 and my oldest is 21. I went to college in Nebraska and majored in English because I love to write. My favorite books are classics like Dracula, the Scarlet Letter and Heart of Darkness. I enjoy blogging, knitting, making cards, making soap, watching comedies, and keeping up with real and online friends on facebook and I have a house cleaning business with my sister

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family but didn't really gain a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ until I was an adult. My conversion came when, during my honeymoon week, my new husband had a heart attack. The doctors who cared for him were very skilled and had my complete confidence but more importantly, I saw the tender mercies of God as I watched the people who loved him the best take care of him. It occurred to me like never before, that family is the reason we are here on earth.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday School to 5 and 6 year old children. It amazes me how smart these little ones are. They teach me way more than I teach them! I live my faith in small ways. I teach my children right from wrong, teach them to work hard, play hard, and always be kind. I make sure they know they are loved and that they are the most important people on the planet. I know that by telling people I am LDS, I am putting myself in the big Mormon Fishbowl and you all are watching to make sure I practice what I preach. I'm a sinner but that doesn't stop me from trying again and again and again to be my personal best
