Hi I'm Jessica Ruth

I'm a student, a sister, an aunt, a daughter, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I served in the US Navy for over six years. I am a student in pursuit of my Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education. I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised with any one religion or another. I would go with friends to their church services on occasion. I went through college and joined the Navy. After being selected into the Naval Flight program, and going through much training I was told I was two tenths of an inch too short to fly. I was going through a divorce from a man who had cheated on me multiple times. I was not in the best place, but I got an invitation from an old high school friend who lived near by, to come to church to hear her talk. I had just recently been reunited with her during a 200 mile relay run (Ragnar DC). I felt at home at church, so I decided to go again the next Sunday. I soon started talking to missionaries. I came to realize that each time would go to church, talk to the missionaries, read out of the Bible or Book of Mormon that any question I had would be answered, any problem I seemed to be facing would fade away. It was an amazing feeling, one you would have to experience for yourself, one I would never give up.

How I live my faith

I was baptized into the church December of 2010. I enjoy attending all of our chuch activities. They help me to brighten my day. Each time I go participate in a church activity is like a breath of fresh air, a renewal on life.
