Hi I'm Becky

I love to be happy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom who never seems to stay at home much! My husband and four daughters are what life is all about to me! I love to help at the schools my children attend, whether helping in the classroom, working at the book fair, or going on field trips and marching band competitions. Mostly I just love to be with my family! Eating, watching movies at home, quoting the movies we watch, reading scriptures or just hanging out. We also like to travel... I enjoy planning trips as much as taking them. One of our favorite parts of traveling is checking out as many temples as we can along the way!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this church brings countless blessings to my life. First and foremost, I know that through living the teachings of the gospel fully, I can be with my family forever, and I sure want that! I am grateful for the inspired, divine directions God gives to help us raise our families. Being a parent, being a teenager, being a child- all are difficult positions these days, but God shows us the way to live meaningful, successful, wonderful lives. I also have a firm testimony of being HAPPY! By following His way, I am guaranteed happiness in this life AND the next, no matter the trials I may face. My favorite scriptures talk about joy and happiness, such as Mosiah 2:41, "And moreover, I would that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it." Who doesn't want never-ending happiness? And finally, I know my Savior and my Heavenly Father love me. I have felt that witness many times in my life. They have given me everything, everything! I want to show my appreciation for these things by doing what they ask. Funny thing is, if I do whatever they ask me to do, then they bless me even more! You just can't lose when you obey God!

How I live my faith

One thing I love to do is go to the temple. It is a place of learning, a place of service, a place to see that there is so much more for us than we can comprehend here "outside." Eternal families are built in the temple. I love to help do that. My husband and I teach our girls that temples are important to us by going often, and by making it a point to visit any we can when we travel. At this time, I serve as a leader of young women ages 12-13. It is a busy and wonderful opportunity to help plan lessons and activities that will help these teenagers develop socially and spiritually. We also encourage the youth to go to the temple and serve as they can, and set their sights on starting their own eternal families when they get married there. My callings in the church have had a great impact on me. I've been able to help plan and participate in some amazing events, but there is more than that. The personal relationships I've developed, the quiet examples I have learned from, the testimonies I have heard- these things have changed my heart. I'm grateful for the women and men, youth and children, that I have learned from and continue to learn from. I don't know how to live any other way than by living the gospel of Christ. I wouldn't want to even try it any other way. Peace, direction and happiness are always mine. Yes, I guess it takes faith, but I have tried to follow His way my whole life, and He always guides me and blesses me. There can't be a better way!
