Hi I'm Jay

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm an Airman. I'm a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world, and we have six fantastic children. Shortly after my wife and I got married, we decided that I should join the US Air Force. We have absolutely loved military life, as it has afforded us the opportunity to live in a lot of great places and make some wonderful friendships. My wife has always been interested in photography, and I have always tried to be supportive of her. Eventually, however, I discovered that photography was as exciting to me as it was to her. Now it is something we absolutely love to do together. Photography allows us to capture people's memories in a way that can continue to bring them joy. We love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in Utah and raised in a Mormon family. During the early part of my life, I really didn't even know anyone who was not a Mormon. When I was eleven years old, my family moved to the midwest, where I discovered that being a Mormon was not the norm. Suddenly finding myself surrounded by friends and neighbors with beliefs that were different than my own afforded me the opportunity to truly analyze my own beliefs. From childhood I believed that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was God's church. As I went through my teenage years, and was exposed to other beliefs, I sought a witness from God that the things I had been taught from childhood were in fact true. God answered my prayers, and He has given me countless witnesses over the years confirming to me the truth that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. In addition to my upbringing and witnesses from God, I am a Mormon because living by the teachings of Jesus Christ has made me happy. I feel peace, love, and joy from living His gospel.

How I live my faith

I am involved in Scouting and in teaching the youth in our local congregation. I try to show these young people how obedience to God's commandments and seeking a personal relationship with Him will lead to happiness and success in life. I try to take very seriously the counsel of the Apostle Paul in the New Testament to be an example of the believers in everything I do. When you stop and think about it, the most important thing we can do in life is live in a way that pleases God.
