Hi I'm Casey

I grew up in Utah. I'm an Eagle scout who loves playing the violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing my violin. I also enjoy working on cars and admiring american classic/muscle cars. I plan to go to a University to study business and decide how to best use that to support a family in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but there came a time that I decided that I nedded to know for myself if it was true. So I read the Book of Mormon and then asked God for an answer of its truth. I reiceived that answer and when I received it all of my doubt that I might have had before was gone. I know that Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and that this is His resotred church on the earth once more. I could never deny that knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have served as a sunday school teacher teaching the new members of my ward. I have also served in the Leadership of the group of Young Men, that I went through High School with. I try to live my life as an example of someone who is a Disciple of Jesus Christ. I also have friends who have the same standards as me, so it becomes easier to be an example. Everyday I try to find opportunity to serves others whom I meet as I serve as a missionary in Iowa.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a man just like any other man. The only exception to this is, that he was called of God to be a Prophet to Restore the Lord's true Church to the earth once more. That Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

The authortiy to act in God's name is called the priesthood. This priesthood has been give to God's servants upon the earth from the begining of time. Jesus Christ showed how important it is to go to those who have the priesthood, or authority to act in God's name, for baptism when He traveled to John the Baptist, and was baptized by him in the River Jordan. This same authority was given to Christ's ancient Apostles, and was subsequently taken from the earth. It has been restored through a modern-day Prophet named Joseph Smith, by the hand of those ancients who once exercised that authority. For what man can gain or give that which he has not been given? Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The reason for having 12 Apostles is found in the synoptic gospels of the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Jesus Christ called and ordained 12 men to serve as Apostles during His lifetime. This is a fact that cannot be disputed. He gave them the authority to perform the ordinances of the Gospel in His name. After Christ was crucified, and Judas Isacariot, the one who betrayed Christ, had hung himself the ancient Apostles met together with the ancient membership of the Church and there used the power of Revelation and Inspiration to chose Mathias as the new Apostle to fill the vacancy with in that body of priesthood bearers, who held the title of Apostle. That is why in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we have a quorum, or group, of 12 Apostles. These men are called and chosen by the Lord to serve Him until their dying breath. They bear the title of Apostle and dedicate their life's work to serving the Master. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will bring a message about Jesus Christ. This message is one that all of us can use in our lives. It is the message of the Love which Christ has for each of us. He loved us so much that he laid down His life and took it up again that we may all live again after we pass from this mortal boon. This love is the same which led Him to reach out to the children of God on the Earth once more, calling a Prophet who can help us to know what we must do to live with our Heavenly Father once more and restoring the Priesthood, or the power and authority to perform the sacred ordinances required to return to Him, to the Earth once more.
