Hi I'm Kirstyn

I live in Denver, CO. I am a ballroom dancer, Pilates instructor, a wife and mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a professional ballroom dance coach and judge. I certified in Pilates in Los Angeles, CA where I lived for 1.5 years after graduating from college. I later lived in New York City (in Harlem) for a year teaching a really nice Pilates studio on UES. I've taught ballroom dance for over 10 years. I got married when I was 30 and had my first baby at 31. I am now a stay at home mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I got married when I was 30. Although it was not always easy to stay chaste and virtuous in my search for my eternal spouse, I knew the promises and blessings that come from living a chaste life outweighed any momentary pleasure the world could offer me. I know that Heavenly Father has a UNIQUE plan for each of our lives. He is aware and concerned for each and every individual on earth! Sometimes it is a challenge to follow the commandments but as a Mormon I have acquired an eternal perspective which makes keeping even difficult commandments a little easier. My adorable hubby is definitely worth the 30 year wait! The gospel teaches that the family unit is central to our existance here on earth and I know that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God. I am grateful for the knowledge that I can be with my husband and family for eternity. I am grateful to have the knowledge and blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. I am grateful to be able to partake of the sacrament each week in church, repent of my sins, and renew the covenants I've made with Heavenly Father. I've seen how little choices can have a domino effect for good or bad in one's life. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because choosing to follow the latter-day prophets and apostles of Christ has proven to keep me safe and happy. I've avoided many addictions, much heartache, and disease simply by adhering to the commandments of God given through living prophets and apostles. The choice to stay virtuous until I was married was not an easy choice but I know that the Lord strengthened me as I kept this commandment. This choice has had a domino effect for good in my life.

How I live my faith

I organize a monthly activity for the women in my ward. There are about 75 women in the ward we usually have anywhere from 20-40 show up for our monthly activity! These meetings give us women a chance to make friends and really get to know each other. We have an awesome network of talented, intelligent and fun women to associate with. Some of the most recent activities have included: a Zumba night (emphasizing health and fitness, we had a guest Zumba instructor come teach a class and finished off the night with smoothies), a Meal in a Bag night (emphasizing self-reliance, we learned how to put together and store meals that could be used on a busy night), a Meet and Greet (we have A LOT of new sisters moving into the ward so we decided to take a night to get to know each other). We try to create activities to accomplish the following goals: 1) to strengthen families and make homes a center for spiritual safety, 2) increase faith and personal righteousness, and 3) to learn and apply principles of provident living (spiritual and temporal self-reliance).
