Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm studying psychology to help adolescents struggling with anxiety and depression. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy music a lot, so I'm constantly finding new bands to listen to. I go to concerts often. I dabble in drums and keyboard, but I'm not a spectacular musician by any means. I am studying psychology; I find people fascinating, and I want to learn more about how I can help individuals cope with the daily challenges that we all experience in this life. I love spending time with my friends and participating in various shenanigans and silly activities with them. I love my church and the gospel and the happiness it brings to my life. I love Jesus Christ and do my best to follow Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon primarily because I was born into the Church. Both my parents were members when I was born. My dad grew up in the church as well, but my mom is a convert. However, being born a Mormon does not mean you automatically have a testimony. It is everyone's challenge to gain a testimony and become truly converted. Whether someone finds Christ's church when he is young or when he is old, it does not matter. Conversion is a gradual process, and testimonies are developed over time. Over my lifetime, I've come to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he died for us so that we could live with our Father in Heaven again. I know that he died for me and that he died for you. I know that God is unchanging, all-knowing, all-powerful, and perfect. I know that He loves us, and that is why He sent His Son. I know that because He loves us, he tells his servants, the prophets, all the things that are necessary for us to know in order to make it back to heaven and live forever with our families. And I know that God has once again reached out in love to His children and given them another prophet so that we can still know these truths and His gospel. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today and that he leads and guides Christ's church. I know that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and that they truly spoke to him. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know, without a doubt, that it is true. I have read it, pondered it, prayed about it, and received an answer through the Holy Ghost that the message it contains is true and that Jesus Christ truly is our Savior. You too can know if these things are true if you will only desire to know and ask God in faith. That's all it takes. In short, I am a Mormon because this Church is true.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith... I live my faith by sharing the gospel with others. I try to be a good example so that teachers, friends, and family can see the light of Christ shining within me. I talk with my friends about religion quite often. This Church has important truths that I have come to know, and because of that I want to share them with everybody. I've participated in my ward (or congregation) as a home teacher, service committee member, and in various leadership positions in my youth group to help bring people even closer to Christ. Currently I am serving a two-year mission in the Iowa Des Moines Mission teaching and preaching and working like missionaries do.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

By exercising your faith! Read the scriptures, for they testify of Him. Pray to your Father in heaven and ask for a witness that Jesus is the Christ. Attend church on Sunday and learn more of Him. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The fact that Matthias replaced Judas is evidence that this Apostleship was meant to continue. The Apostles are special witnesses of Jesus Christ. They help assist the President of the Church as he leads and directs the Church. Show more Show less
