Hi I'm Austin

I love to make music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love mountain biking and road biking. If you say the word bicycle, I'm there. I also love kayaking and making music. I play the piano, cello, trombone, and I sing as well. I just finished 3 semesters of college and I want to become the best husband, Dad, son and friend that I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it's true. You may say "know" is a strong word, but I'll explain if you'll read a little.... As I was growing up, I was a bit of an obnoxious kid. A strong will, combined with a very short temper made me a bomb waiting to explode. As I was going throughout school, I could never find what I was looking for. My Mom and Dad suggested that I should read the Book of Mormon. So... I did. I read the whole thing in about a year or so, taking my time to understand what was in it. I'd read it before, but never with "real intent". All real intent means is that I was willing to act on the feelings that I would recieve. As I finished it, I commenced to follow some of the admonitions from ancient prophets in the end of the Book of Mormon. He said that as I read with "real intent", ponder with "real intent", and pray with "real intent", that I would recieve a feeling from God that it is true. So I read, thought about it on my bed, and then prayed with real intent. God answered my prayer. It wasn't through seeing an angel, but it was through a feeling inside my mind and heart. A peace that comes from nowhere else in this world. The most glorious feeling that you could ever feel!! And then I knew that it was true.

How I live my faith

I serve without pay, as do all others in our church, and one of the ways that I participate in my community is by visiting certain people that I've been assigned to visit. Right now, everything I do is for the Lord. I am away from home for 2 years, learning the beautiful Spanish language and telling all who will listen about this wonderfully TRUE message. Why else would I give up two years, and my whole life to God through this church? There is so much that I could be doing right now. But because I know that this church is true, I've experienced more happiness than I ever have in my life, in easy ways such as following Christ and following what He taught in Jerusalem (the Holy Bible) as well as in the Americas (the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ). As I follow those teachings, I continue to feel that marvelous happiness that can only come through Christ. And it stays too. It's not a thrill, but I'm happy.... I'm happy.
