Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love sports! I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since I´ve been little I have alwasy had love for sports. Playing Baseball and Basketball are my biggest hobbies. I have loved growing up as a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as well. The life lessons that I have learned through Sports and my family as we strive to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ have made me the person I am today. I am serving as a missionary in The Michigan Lansing Mission so that I can share that happiness with all those who seek it.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I never wanted to do anything different. All my life, when I have made a concious effort to attend church every week, participate in church activities like Family Home Evening, Scouting events, and young men´s activities, I have been happy. I have made great friends through church and have found great joy in living Gospel Principles with them. As I continue to learn more about the Savior and they way he wants us to live our lives, I grow. Without the Church, I don´t know where I´d be.

How I live my faith

I have chosen to serve a full time mission so that i can take on the title of A Representative of Jesus Christ. I have found joy through striving to live like Jesus Christ and passing my burdens and sorrows off to him. I have held positions of Leadership in the Church's Young Men´s organization. I have been a home teacher with my Dad since I´ve been twelve and have been able to build really strong relationships with members of our home ward. As part of our Young Men´s program I have earned the rank of an Eagle Scout and have loved paricipating in scouting activities. I play church basketball anytime I get the chance!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Jeff
That it is essential. We can do all that we can and it will avail us nothing without the atonement of Jesus Christ. I feel that that doctrine applies to every aspect of life, not just salvation. As a Missionary, an Athlete, a Student, a Son, brother and friend, I do all that I can to succeed, but ultimately rely on The Savior's help. He knows how to help because part of his Atonement was experiencing all that we can ever go through in life. Jesus Christ has "borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows" as Isaiah states it and "went forth suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind" as Alma put it. Because he knows what I'm going through perfectly, He is who I'm going to turn to when I face difficulties in life. As Jesus Christ paid the penalty for my mistakes, I stand with Paul and solemnly declare that His Grace is sufficent for me as I live his Gospel. Show more Show less
