Hi I'm Alex

i'm from Riverton Utah i love to play Guitar, ride Motorcycles, and i'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm 20 years old i love to play the guitar its something i never thought i would get into because neither of my parents are super music. my dad played a little trumpet in high school and my mom.. well we love her anyways ha she just isn't a musical person. but i picked up the guitar almost 8 years ago and i have loved every minute of it. i was teaching at a Guitar Studio in my Home town for just over 2 years and i loved seeing my students experience the joy i've found in playing guitar but i put it aside for two years right now as i serve a mission for My Faith. but i plan on picking right back up with guitar when i get home and hopefully someday opening up my own guitar studio when i get home. i have 3 younger brothers that are a lot of fun especially my 16 year old one because he has a love of music to but with drums so that is always fun time for me and him. i love to go camping with my family especially when we bring our Motorcycles and just go have fun together my family means the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the church. I was leaning on my parents testimonys of this Church in my early teens because i was doing what they wanted me to do and i didn't want to get in a big argument about it that i was sure would have come. i went to Church every week and other activities but i never really prayed maybe once in a while but usually not. and i never read my scriptures of my own choice, it was usually at church where everyone else was or when my parents told me too. but overall i really wondered if God really did exist and that he really cared about me because i didn't feel like it. it wasn't till i was about 17 i began to try and read a little bit and try praying to God find out if he was really there. nothing really happened i just kept doing it i started trying to pay more attention in Church. i was also called to be a youth teacher in the Church for kids ages 10-12 so i was studying to teach them and find an answer for myself. i began preparing for a mission which the encourage young men to go on at age 19. mainly to please my parents again but also with a deeper hope and thought of trying to gain an answer and testimony about the LDS faith. i had support from a lot of really awesome friends and amazing family members as i prepared and cleaned up my life a little bit so that i could go. i left and entered the MTC or the missionary training center and began prepping to become a missionary. it wasn't until the last monday of the three weeks i was there in a testimony meeting with a group of missionaries that i finally got my answer that it was true as i was listening to them tell how the Gospel had changed their lives and as i thought about how it changed my in the last few years. I felt an overwhelming feeling that it all was true and i could feel My Father in Heavens Love for me. that was a major turning point in my life and i'm out sharing the blessing with everyone. i'm still learning but i know it truly is true and its for everyone.

How I live my faith

I guess the biggest way i live my faith is right now i'm serving a mission for my church in the state of Michigan for two years sharing it with people and letting them see it for themselves how it can bless their lives like it has blessed mine. but back home before that i was always one to help out when people needed help. thats something my dad always taught me and its something i've always tried to do and enjoy. The Savior was always one that would help others in need and since i'm trying to be like my Savior i should help those in need as well. whether its moving someone in or out of a house. shoveling driveways in the winter, helping my Grandparents build a fence or moving their lawn. just trying to be help in anyway. i might not always be the first one to arrive and the last to leave but i always try to help people out. we all our trying to return back to our Father in Heaven why not help each other along the way. thats what the Savior wants us to do, I know that i'm far from perfect but i'm trying to become more like him each and every day.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

the best way to know if Mormonism is true is to read the Book of Mormon. and ask God if it is truly his Word and that Joseph Smith was God's Prophet on the Earth. and then to listen to the feeling that come to your heart. for God will always tell you the truth. as well as apply the Principles that we teach as doctrine from God John 7:17 talks about how we can know if some thing from God or not by applying it in our lives. truth will from doing that through the Holy Ghost Show more Show less
