Hi I'm Richard

I am a Civil Engineer from Colorado. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy riding bikes, hiking, and writing music. I am studying to become an engineer. I work as a theatre technician. I also love to cook. I enjoy things that involve other people. My favorite dessert is cheesecake.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know it's true. I have exercised faith and have seen the results.

How I live my faith

I serve as an organist in my congregation. I try to show an example of the believers to all those around me.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Have you ever wondered why a cup of hot chocolate always cools to room temperature when left out in the open? Why doesn't a cup of chocolate milk suddenly become hot when placed on the table? There is a law of the universe called Entropy, which states that an object will tend to become like its surroundings. Hot stuff that's surrounded by cold stuff becomes cold. As this is a universal law, the same applies to us. We are not in a perfect world, and and thus tend to become imperfect. That is the order of the universe. However, the law of Entropy also implies that cold things surrounded by hot things become hot. Water placed on the stove becomes hot because it is attached to a heat source. We learn to attach ourselves to the ultimate Source of Perfection; Christ. As we do that, we tend to become more perfect. We need a Savior because He is our connection to truth and perfection. Our attachment to Him via obedience and covenants literally saves us from the natural effects of our contact with a fallen world. Just as hot water cools away from a heat source, so we estrange ourselves to anything Godlike when we are away from God. And just as water heats up when placed on the stove, so do we become more like God when we are near to Him. Show more Show less
