Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Vancouver Canada, I am a recording and touring artist. I am married with 5 children and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've been to College and University. I started a IT consulting company ten years ago and currently enjoy working with the companies i do. I have 5 small children all under the age of 10. I've been married since 2000. My career allows me to tour and have enough time to work on music. My wife and I are both singers and songwriters and love to work on music together. I joined the church as a 16 year old, and my wife has been a member her entire life. I also like to hike, play music, soccer, hockey, power lifting, touring with my music, performing with my wife and recording in a studio. I have always wanted to be a father and I am active in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

When i was 15 years old my mother died from AIDS. She was sick with HIV+ for a long time, and eventually she gave way to the horrible disease. After many months of soul searching, and trying to elevate myself out of the depression i was feeling, i was introduced to the Mormon Church. I had attended a few times with my mother once or twice throughout the years, but when my mother asked if i wanted to join with her, i said "No". I had no desire as a young man then to join the church and no desire to change my life. At that stage in my life, i was exceling in performences and acting in TV Commercials and theatrical productions. My mother was an inspiring woman, while suffering incredible pains and internal physical crisis, she continued to serve in her church calling as relief society president. She actively attended church regardless of pain and suffering she endured. She served so diligently because she believed this church to be the true church of God, and that it was indeed restored to it's fullness when joseph smith translated the gold plates. My mother knew this to be true. Just as i do.

How I live my faith

I serve in a few capacities in the local ward i attend. I currently serve as the Ward Membership Clerk. I also have a calling in Elder's quorum as the activities coordinator. I also have a calling on the Stake Music committee as a member. I have enjoyed and learned from every calling i've been given in the church. I love to serve in the church because it's a small way for me to give something back for all the love i've been shown.
