Hi I'm Lyndell

I'm a mum, wife, Registered Nurse, and at the moment a wanna-be cake decorator! I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I love lots of kinds of crafts and sewing, and most recently have started cake decorating. My husband booked me in to a cake decorating course for christmas last year, which was the best present ever (after tickets to see 'Phantom of the Opera'). My cupboards are filled with hobby boxes and I have too many to keep up with. Since having two really cute little kids I don't have much time for them anyway. I have a little girl who's nearly 3, and a boy who turned one a couple of weeks ago. I work one day a week as a Registered Nurse, which I enjoy, but I'd really rather be at home with the kids (or making something).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church. My Mum and Dad were baptised before I was born. I love being a Mormon because it gives me direction in my life. It has taught me a safe path to follow. I first really knew that the church was true when I finished reading the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was 17 years old. I knelt down and prayed to ask if it were true, and the feeling that I got sraight away was an unbelievably warm and powerful sort of 'hug' from the Holy Ghost telling me it was true. I will never forget it. When I was little my family didn't go to our church very often becasue we lived so far away, but there was always a feeling I got, even as a young child, that it was the right thing to do. Now I am grown, and married with children of my own I am grateful to know that my little family can be together forever. We have been married in our temple and I know it is a house of God, and it is the only place where eternal marriages are begun. I know God lives, and I know Jesus Christ lives. They love me so much and I feel it every day.

How I live my faith

I love attending church weekly and serving others in my calling as the Young Women's Program Secretary. I love the Young Women's Program (for girls aged 12-18 years). It teaches them how to live a virtuous life. Church is a wonderful place. All my friends are there. I feel the Holy Ghost there. However, being a Mormon doesn't mean just going to church, but it's about living each day the best that I can. I make mistakes all the time, but I know I can ask for forgiveness. My hisband and I pray with our children in the evenings before bed and at meal times. My 3 year old is learning to pray and can now offer a really neat blessing on the food all by herself! I want to live forever with my family, so we need to stay strong in the gospel, choose the right, and serve eachother.
