Hi I'm Vince

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of 3 (2 boys and a girl) with a background in Fitting & Turning, Building Construction and Computer Software Development. I have a very keen interest in motorbikes and motor cars. Some of my favourite shows are "Overhauling" with Chip Foose, American Hot Rod and Americian Chopper.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young boy I lived not far from the local LDS Chapel. On a hot summer Saturday afternoon my friend and I decided to investigate the LDS Chapel and to our surprise they had a swimming pool. Though very small, we still decided to take a nice swim to cool down. Later that afternoon a Church member arrived and scolded us for swimming in their Baptismal font. Years later after leaving school I gained employment at an Engineering workshop where I made friends with a guy that also had the same strong interest in cars as I did. His parents happened to be LDS. More years past and I then gained other employment as a Project Fitter with a research company. One of the managers who I got on well with also happened to be LDS. In later years my mother began her Family History addiction and was always at the LDS Family History Centre. Many more years past and I decided to move to another City and start a new career in Building construction. Not knowing many people, my mate from the Engineering workshop said his sister is living there and to catch up with her. Yes, she was LDS and I started attending Church. We soon decided to marry and it was to be in that very Chapel that I swam in their font those years earlier. Her Father (who was also LDS) was to marry us and her brother, my mate, gave her away. Then once again years later after attending Church I decided to be a Baptised member and for the second time got to take a swim in that same font some 20 years later.

How I live my faith

I love to provide service as I feel it’s a way to practice my talents and provide immediate blessings to those that I have been prompted to serve. My service is generally in practical terms and in the form of manual labour for those that may not be capable. "When Ye Are in the Service of Your Fellow Beings Ye Are Only in the Service of Your God" (Mosiah 2:17)

What is being a Mormon like?

Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Becoming and being a Mormon meant fairly minor changes to how I was living my life anyway. But it will depend on the individual as to what and how they may sacrifice their current lifestyle or habits to benefit from the blessing’s that will come from obedience. Show more Show less
