Hi I'm Ray

I'm a Hang Glider Pilot, Custom Knife Maker, Star Wars Costumer and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a great lover of God’s creations and the entire earth is a testament to me that God lives, as is wondrous. As a result of my love for His creations, I am a scuba diver and a hang glider pilot. These activities allow me to experience God’s creations in ways that few people get to experience them, and each time I take the time to do these things I cannot help but marvel at the divine nature of the earth, which in turn lifts my soul and brings me deep gratitude for God’s love for each and every one of us. Also, the Lord has blessed me with many artistic talents, though I feel that my most “polished” accomplishments have come in the field of custom knife making.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were approached by missionaries, they listened to their message and joined the church when I was 2 years old, so I have grown up with the gospel of Jesus Christ as a pattern for my life, but that doesn’t mean that I blindly follow the things I have been told by my parents. All members of the church, whether born into it or not, must at some point gain a testimony of the church for themselves, and decide for themselves if it right or not. I have gained my own testimony of the church, and witness that it is true.

How I live my faith

In Alma chapter 34 verse 28 we read BR class=" slvzr-first-child"BR"… iif ye turn away the needy, and the naked, and visit not the sick and afflicted, and impart of your substance, if ye have, to those who stand in need - I say unto you, if ye do not any of these things, behold, your prayer is vain, and availeth you nothing, and ye are as hypocrites who do deny the faith/i."BRBRThe Lord has told us to care for the naked, the sick and afflicted, and impart of our substance to those who stand in need of it.BRBRThis directive from the Lord is given that we might develop love and compassion for our fellow man, lifting the spirits of those who are suffering, as well as providing for the needs of those without.BRBRIt is easy to get caught up in our own lives, and forget the many people around us who are suffering. For me, the ones who capture my heart the most are the children.BRBRA few years ago I discovered a group of like minded people who love Star Wars, and who also have the spirit of compassion for those children in hospital.BRBRThrough the international organization, the 501st Legion, we take our love of Star Wars to another level, by wearing our professional grade costumes to visit sick children in hospital, as well as raising money and awareness for children’s, and many other, charities the world over.BRBRIt’s a fun way to brighten the lives of those sick children that we meet, if even for a short while, and anyone who has done this will tell you that it’s both uplifting as well as humbling to see the hope, trust and love, as well as the strength, courage and faith of the little ones we visit, so if you see a bunch of Storm Troopers as you go about your business, give us a wave and a smile, because you’ll know that it is most likely just the 501st Legion doing service for charity.BR
