Hi I'm Jimmy

I am a sports fanatic, food connoisseur, a wannabe chef, a father, a husband, a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Bay Area in California and currently live in Colorado. I am a Husband and a Father of 5 beautiful children. I am married to a wonderful woman who has taken on the hardest job in the world of being a stay at home Mom (AKA: Home Engineer). I am a Manager for a garbage/recycle company. "My job stinks and I get to talk trash to people all day long(HaHaHa). At one time in my life I was a football coach and I love working with kids. I enjoy pretty much all sports. I recently have learned how to Fly Fish and love the peace I feel when I go fishing. Catching fish is a bonus, just being out and enjoying God's beautiful creations is what I enjoy the most. I think my favorite thing to do is to take my kids to different places and watch them as they learn, laugh and play. I love to make people laugh. My motto in life is: "If you're not laughing you're not living." I feel laughter can cure a lot of things that we face in life. I have this habbit that when I see someone upset that I tried to make a joke or make fun of myself to get them to forget about what they were upset about. I love the feeling I get when I help people.

Why I am a Mormon

From the time I can remember I have attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.I did not always go for the right reasons, sometimes I would go to please my parents or sometimes I would go for a pretty girl. Growing up I always knew that the Church was a good place but I was not so sure if it was true. As a teenager, I did not always make the best choices. At one point, I had an experience where you could say that my life had hit "Rock Bottom". At about that time in my life I started dating a girl who was of another faith and was trying to get her life back on track. She started attended Confirmation classes and invited me to go with her. I attended the classes faithfully and learned a lot about the Catholic faith. It was on a night after one of these classes that my life would change forever, with one simple question. The Priest that was leading the classes came up to me and asked, "Jimmy, What do you believe?" I think for the first time in my life I was speechless, I could not answer him. I really did not know what I believed. For the next few weeks that question kept repeating over and over in my mind. I decided that I would learn about what my Parent's had been trying to teach me. I began to study the Scriptures. One day I read in the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5. I knew that the only way I could find out what God wanted me to know was to ask him directly. One day I got down on my knees and I began to talk to my Heavenly Father. I asked him if what I was studying is true. I felt an overwhelming sense of emotion flood my heart, I felt at peace as tears rolled down my cheeks because I knew right then that my Heavenly Father loves me. I know now even more than I did almost 20 years ago that God is real and he lives, loves me, knows me personally, and wants to help me with every aspect of my life. I know that through Jesus Christ he has provided a way for me to be forgiven of my sins and live with my family with God and Jesus Christ for eternity.

How I live my faith

To BE a Christian is not only to believe in Christ but to live as he did. I love to help and serve others whenever and wherever I can. Whether it's making someone smile when they are down or taking time to show a little child a silly trick with my tie, I know that I am helping my Brothers and Sisters. I enjoy taking opportunities to positively affecting the lives of those around me, in my community and in my Church. I love to serve as a volunteer for the Special Olympics. I love to hand out blankets and food to the homeless. I love to teach my children how to show love through service. I have found that service helps me more that it helps the person that I set out to help. When ye are in the bservice of your cfellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. Mosiah 2:17 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11
