Hi I'm Michael

I enjoy family and seeing the wonder of God’s creations in the outdoors. And I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a good family on the East coast. I married a great woman from Washington state, and we live there now with 5 delightful children. We love to be outdoors—biking, canoeing, rafting, gardening, cross-country skiing—and playing sports. I work in healthcare as a computer security specialist and consider it a blessing to work with great people and to serve others.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents lived in the eastern US and attended another church. My uncle joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and then invited my parents to learn more. After studying with the missionaries, they eventually decided to follow the Savior by being baptized, and I was born a few years later. I feel blessed to have been raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a young teenager, I attended seminary classes before school every day where we studied the New Testament, and my faith in a loving Heavenly Father and in His Son Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world became strong. My spiritual confirmation of the Book of Mormon as the word of God came later after in-depth study and earnest prayer. Today I continue to see the Lord’s hand in my life and in the lives of others in answer to prayers, which provides an ongoing witness of His reality. Feeling the Holy Spirit provides another assurance that God lives.

How I live my faith

I pray and read scriptures, alone and with my family most days. Studying the word of God in the Holy Scriptures and also listening to living prophets and apostles is a great blessing for my family and me. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalms 119:105). I attend church with my family every week, and I attend other congregations in the area once a month working with young children or youth. Every Monday we have family night studying a gospel topic together and having a fun activity. I do my best to follow the Savior.
