Hi I'm Kara Leigh Grenfell

I've lived all over the U.S., just got home from my mission, love my family, and LOVE the Gospel because I AM A MORMON.

About Me

Kara Leigh here! I am 23 years old. My Dad always wanted a son... but he got four girls! He took us fishing and camping and taught us how to play sports- so we are pretty rowdy. But, my Mom taught us how to sew and eat healthy and clean well, so we are quite well rounded. I try to be a good example for them and a help to strengthen my family. I love my family more than anything. I am a Senior at Brigham Young University where I study Elementary Education. I am very passionate about teaching, especially to children. I had amazing teachers as a child (at Montana City Elementary), who really sparked my imagination and desire for knowledge. I want to integrate arts, music, and drama into school curriculum. I think children need more excitement and creativity in their learning. I hope someday to make a difference in the education field. I love to play sports- bball and vball, and especially love snowboarding. I love looking and art, and sometimes try to create it. I love good food, and I'm trying to learn to cook. I love singing! I served a mission for God in the beautiful Tacoma, Washington area. I loved my time spent in that holy place, and especially all those I love and hold so dear. I miss my full time service sometimes, but I hold dear the revelation and lessons I learned while there. I look forward to continuing to serve my King. In the future- I hope to travel around the world. I want to get married and have lots of kiddos to teach the gospel to and go on missions!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who both are strong members. My Dad is a convert, but my Mom's side has been members from the beginning. I read the picture Book of Mormon stories and watched Legacy as a child. I attended Young Women's (youth group) and went to Church every week. BUT, I still lacked a true conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I went to college, for the first time, my faith was tested, and I had to decide if I really DID believe the things that my parents had taught me my whole life. Through bad experiences and good people to help, I began to see that the Gospel truly does bless my life. I began to believe what I had been told in Young Women's a thousand times; that I was "a daughter of God." There was a shift during this time; from thinking "eh the Church is alright" to, "WOW! THIS CHURCH IS AMAZING, THIS GOSPEL IS FANTASTIC, I WANT TO SHARE THIS WITH OTHERS." So, I put in my mission papers! I continue to serve and live the Gospel purely because of the Spirit I feel. That is enough to keep me going! I love feeling the peace, assurance, and love of Heavenly Father through His Spirit. Its the feeling that touches a deep part of my own spirit that I cannot deny! That what keeps me coming and learning and repenting.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. He is the perfect example, and I can think of no better way to live the gospel of Jesus Christ then to try to emmulate Him.
