Hi I'm Erica

I'm a wanna-be world changer. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi, I’m Erica. I love to love. I'm the proud member, sister, daughter, etc. of a large mixed-family. I love my background and all the culture that comes with it. Family and people in general mean the most to me. I’m curious about almost everything and I live to learn. Service is where the greatest joy occurs. Give me a good book and I’ll love you forever, but I probably already loved you anyway. Some of my favorite things are music, dancing, cooking, baking, the piano, volleyball, the piano and the guitar.... oh and probably a homemade tortilla or two.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I feel a more fitting question would be... why wouldn't I be a Mormon? There is nothing on this earth that makes us more free. Or happy. And isn't that what it's all about? In a world where people are turning to anything and everything that will bring happiness or purpose to their life, there's a place and there's a way that it can be found. That place is not necessarily in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but in the truths that are taught there. It's really in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. If you're looking for truth, I promise that it's here. If you're looking for peace and comfort... it's here. If you're searching for meaning and purpose.... it is here. You can know that these things are true, too. All God asks is a sincere heart with real intent to know. I'm no stranger to life's brutalities, but I know that there's a way that we can find strength and end the hunt for happiness. I've found it, and that's why I'm a Mormon. I hope someday you can be, too!

How I live my faith

Living our faith is not something that is passive. It involves a lot of action. When you're a member, you suddenly become the participant of something so grand and so wonderful, that you couldn't imagine your life without it. You are constantly accessing the wonderful healing power of the Atonement, and all that it envelopes. I live my faith not by just believing in Christ, but by becoming like Christ. It's not the easiest, and I make mistakes for sure, but that's the beauty of this life... that whole learning and growing thing. Prayer helps a lot. And I'm grateful for that. As a missionary, I live my faith by sharing it and building up those around me. To serve is the greatest feeling. I dedicate my life to becoming like Christ, and to love and uplift others.
