Hi I'm Stefanie Christensen

I'm a mother of 6. I grew up in Colorado and served a mission in Boston, MA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of 6, 2 girls and 4 boys. We adopted our youngest son in 2006. We have been foster parents to 9 kids. My husband James and I have been married since 1993. I served a Spanish speaking mission in Boston, MA. I went to Ricks College in Rexburg Idaho. I enjoy making jewelry and scrapbooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but as everyone else I had to make my own choice to follow the gospel and decide to raise my own family in the church. I grew up very active and developed a testimony as a teenager. I went to seminary and read my scriptures. I had the opportunity to go on temple trips and attend the youth programs the church offers. I remember deciding that I needed to know for myself if the church was true and through reading the Book of Mormon and personal prayer grew to know for myself that Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, that the Book of Mormon is God's word and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church each Sunday in our city of Elizabeth. My husband works with the young men and I visit sisters each month to provide fellowship and friendship. I have the opportunity to serve in many ways. We have Family Home Evening each Monday night. This is a time set apart for our family to meet and share our testimonies of the gospel. We have a lesson that is taught by a member of our family, we sing songs and share our goals for the week. It's a time to plan our schedules and to take an inventory of how our family is doing. We read our scriptures each night and have our family prayers. We spend a lot of time together as a family. As a child I suffered abuse and through the gospel I have learned forgiveness and to be able to live my life with peace and happiness.
