Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wife, 6 children and 19 grandchildren. I am a computer software engineer, enjoy flight simulation and playing my guitar along with Beatle songs.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised as a Catholic and attending public schools, I had a chance to meet e a variety of friends of different faiths. I seemed to like the LDS kids the best. At age 19, I took the missionary lessons. I received a strong confermation from the Holy Ghost that this Church is true and desired to be baptized. However, my parents were not willing to give permission so I had to wait until I was 21 (That was the legal age back then). I joined the US Navy shortly thereafter and met some returned LDS missionaries on my ship who had joined the Navy as well. I told them my story and was soon baptized in San Diego, the month of my 21st birthday.

How I live my faith

I had the opportunity to meet my wife after my discharge from the Navy and teach her about Joseph Smith and modern-day Prophets. She was eager to learn about this because she always had a feeling that if there were Prophets in olden days, there surely must be prophets in modern days. We were married soon after her baptism and sealed in the Oakland Temple. We both have enjoyed working with the youth in Boy Scouts and Girls Camp over the years. We hope to serve a mission or two after I retire; hopefully doing Family History somewhere, since that is my wife's favorite subject.
