Hi I'm Carol

I am a retired office manager and now bookkeeper for an architectural firm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a divorced, retired mother and grandmother. I have three children and seven grandchildren. I enjoy movies, community playhouse and sports (watching). I guess my hobby would be sewing. The women in my family get together once a month for a "Sewing Bee" (mainly we EATand talk and try to remain a close "knit" family). I love to be with my grandchildren; they are all so talented you know. I am a care-giver for my elderly mother. I enjoy my church, both the services and activities. I work one day a week, and I can't imagine how I ever managed to work five days a week. Now that I am retired I am trying to renew old acquaintances and revive old friendships.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church. I went on an RLDS church sponsored bus tour of historical places; and I loved the spirit that I felt as the missionaries told the stories of the LDS sites. After I returned from the trip, I began scoping out the LDS Churches. I finally went to one of their services where I was warmly welcomed; and because I am single and went alone, it was nice to feel so quickly that you belong. Because I already had a background of the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith, I really didn't think I needed to speak to the Missionaries of the Church. I guess my thoughts were that I knew the history and "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". I think their thoughts were "watch us", and they did. I joined the church in 2003, and I continue to learn. I have been taught through love and by example that we truly are children of God and I love being a part of his church family. The Church gives you the support that you need to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to make my love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ my focal point. By doing this, I feel that their guidance will help me to love and serve my family, friends and community in the best ways possible. Since I joined the Church, I have done things that I never in my life expected to do. I have taught Sunday School to primary children and served in the single adult program, planned conferences. With faith and the Holy Spirit and with everyone helping you and wanting you to succeed, you can do all kinds of things. Right now, I am serving in the Church's Women's Organization and enjoying the friendships and comradery that parallels that service.
