Hi I'm Maggie

I'm a sister and a friend. I'm the third of four children, and I love my family. I'm a full time missionary & I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm 22 years old, I'm a college student, but currently I'm a missionary. I love the outdoors because it is where I feel the closest to my Heavenly Father. I am an aunt and I can't wait to meet my nephew! I'm a missionary in the Louisianna Baton Rouge mission, I like helping people change their lives. I love playing sports, (soccer, basketball, volleyball) I watch football with my brothers and I love it. My family is the most important thing in the world to me. I come from a family of 6, my parents, two older brothers and a younger sister. When the family gets together you know that you're going to have a good time. I know that my family will be together forever. My oldest brother is married and they have an almost one year old son that I haven't met yet since I'm on my mission, but my mission here in Louisiana has truly humbled me and I am so grateful to have the experience that I am having. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because this Gospel makes me happy. I've been a member my entire life, and as I look back, I always remember how happy I am and I was. I've prayed and have asked my Heavenly Father if this church is true because I want to raise my future children the way he wants. I don't want to raise them into something I myself was not sure of. I got my answer, I am full of peace and joy, and I can honestly tell you that this is Christ's church restored to the Earth. I know my Savior lives and loves me, and I know that if you read and ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true, and you ask Him if this is His church He will answer you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. I am currently serving as a full time missionary in Louisiana. I love teaching this gospel to people and helping them get to know their Savior more. This church changes people and it has definitely changed me.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Maggie
Our prophet on the earth today is President of the church, his name is Thomas S. Monson. He is a man of great faith, just like prophets in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. And just like those in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, he tells us what we can do now for our temporal well being and our spiritual well being. He can give us direction on how we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I have prayed to know for myself that he is a prophet of God and you can too. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Maggie
A testimony is when a person gains a knowledge of something that they did not have before. A person can gain a wonderful testimony of prayer, when they go through a trial and prayer helped them through it. From that you can also gain a testimony of God's love for you and your family, that He answers you, and that He can help you with anything. To gain this knowledge, and this witness all you have to do is ask! Get on your knees and ask Heavenly Father if this is His church on the earth today, He will answer you. This is something I know because I have gained a testimony of it. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Maggie
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. It's like when you get the keys to win a free car, there are a lot of those keys floating around your city and only one of them works. The priesthood is the key that works, the other keys while they promise something good don't actually work. You have to have the right key to get the car, just like you have to have the right authority to have eternal life. For example, you could say baptism opens the gate to eternal life, but it needs to be done with the proper authority, or it is one of those many keys that do not work. The priesthood cannot be used to bless yourself. Only worthy males can carry the priesthood, and they use it to bless their families and others. By having the priesthood on the Earth today, I know that my family will be an eternal one. Show more Show less
